Argos Partners with Eyekandy to Enable AR Shopping

AR shopping soaring as online buying dramatically accelerates

London, UK, May 2020 – Eyekandy, the home of Augmented Reality (AR) and global leader in A-Commerce for retailers and brands, today announced an exclusive partnership with Argos to provide AR shopping to their shoppers. David Mason, Senior Digital Product Manager at Argos said; “we have been monitoring AR technology for a while and see more of our shoppers wanting the ability to shop from home using AR. Online shopping has soared during Covid-19 as people have been forced online. In line with this growth, AR shopping has equally become more mainstream for general shoppers.

A study conducted by Eyekandy in March reported that Shoppers are reacting positively to a new way of shopping in changing times. The study, using data from a random selection of retail partners, shows traffic to certain key categories soared as people shop more at home and less in store, under the current global circumstances. AR helps ‘close the imagination gap’ for shoppers as the dataset shows key categories (such as Fridge Freezers) see an 18.83% jump in AR engagement and the cart rate jump by 134.5% when shoppers try before they buy using the AR shopping platform.
