eyekandy, one of the world’s leading Augmented Reality (AR) providers, partnered with Bacardi RTD (ready-to-drink) to bring innovation to their in-store activations across the largest retailers in the US. In partnership, eyekandy developed an (AR)efreshing twist on everyone’s favourite carnival game, integrating data capture for Bacardi and social sharing to drive engagement at point of sale (POS).

Bacardi, one of the largest known spirit providers in the industry, requested eyekandy to create an AR experience for their clients. This was aimed at driving Bacardi RTD sales, Brand Engagement and spreading Brand Awareness.

AR Punching Power

The Bacardi Real Rum Cocktail AR Fruit Cannon Game delivers a 'punch' with nearly one minute of engagement in the experience.

They required an authentic experience which would serve the dual purpose of educating consumers whilst also gathering shopper data.

Fire in the Hole

eyekandy saw this as an opportunity to create a unique AR experience for Bacardi that brings a carnival to life. It enabled users to launch the experience on their mobile device via QR code printed on-pack. In addition, the experience was promoted on retailer POS and brand’s social channels.

This tailor-made experience enabled Bacardi to engage with their target audience in a fun and immersive way while at the same time, gaining useful insights into their customers to understand them better.
